John D. Walters
John Douglas Walters, 87, of Bunker Hill, died Thursday, Aug. 15, 1996, in Williamsport Nursing Home.
Born May 14, 1909 in Berkeley County, W.Va., he was the son of the late William Benton and Annie Noll Walters.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lora Knicely Walters.
He was a 1927 graduate of Martinsburg High School. He also graduated from Stewart Business University and attended Southeastern University, both in washington, D.C.
He retired from the U.S. Department of agriculture.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during World war ii in the 17th Armored Replacement Battalion.
He is survived by nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by one brother, C. Benton Walters.
Graveside serviceswill be held at Tuscarora Cemetery with the Rev. Norman G. Price officiating.
