Lyle W. Noll
Martinsburg, W.Va. – Lyle W. Noll, 82, of Martinsburg, died
Friday, Jan. 18, 2002, in Winchester Medical Center.
Born March 10, 1919, in Berkeley County, W.Va., he was the son of the late Obed
C. Noll Sr. and Blanche Miller Noll.
His wife Mary E. Noll preceded him in death.
He was a 1936 graduate of Martinsburg High School.
He retired from Allegheny Power after 37 years of service.
He was a member of Tuscarora Presbyterian Church, where he was an elder, a
deacon, a former Sunday school teacher and a member of various committees and
was active in the Christian Endeavor.
He was a member of Tuscarora Ruritan Club and was an auctioneer in the Eastern
Panhandle for 50 years.
He is survived by two daughters, Trudy Lohman of Bowie, Md., and Becky Jones of
Martinsburg; a friend, Anna Mae Miller; five grandchildren; two great-grandsons;
and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by five brothers, Ned Noll, Max Noll, Cecil Noll,
Robert Noll and Sammy Noll.
Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg, The Rev.
Clark S. Raynal and John W. Cushwa will officiate. Burial will be in Tuscarora
Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m. and
Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Noll Services
Funeral services for Lyle W. Noll, 82, of Martinsburg, who died Friday, Jan. 18,
2002, in Winchester Medical Center, were held Monday, Jan. 21, 2002, 11 a.m. at
Brown Funeral Home with the Rev. Clark S. Raynal and John W. Cushwa officiating.
Interment in Tuscarora cemetery.
Bearers were Chris Smith, David Smith, John M. Cushwa, Robbie Burkhart, Brad
Moss and Don Pownall. Honorary bearers were Penny Burkhart, Lib Miles, Eva Kief,
Barb Catrow, Vicki Clipp, Linda Hardy, Tamsen Mandela, and Sue Ellen Frick.
Flute solo by Amy Sencindiver “One Day at a Time.” The Tuscarora Ruritan Club
and Martinsburg High School Class of 1936 attended as a group. Becky Jones read
a poem entitled “People Liked Him.”
