Ralph M. Lucas
Ralph McCormick Lucas, 54, od Arden Road, was stricken at work and died unexpectedly Monday at 3 p.m.
Employed at Brown Orchards, Inc., for more than 40 years, he was born in Berkeley County, December 4, 1916, son of the late Frank and Florence Hess Lucas.
He was an active member of the Salem United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Ethel Catlett Lucas, whom he married August 13, 1941, at the home; four sons--Edward F. and Ronald P. Lucas, both of Route 1; John R. and Rex. A. Lucas, both at home; four daughters--Mrs. John (Loretta) Dofflemyer, Jr., Norfolk, Va.; Mrs Daniel (Linda) Hess, Jr., Route 1; Misses Patsy L. and Nina R. Lucas, both at the home; four grandchildren--Michael Lucas, Jody Lucas, John Dofflemyer, III, and Kevin Hess; one brother, Melvin Lucas, Charles Town Road; five sisters--Mrs. John P. (Emily) McDonald, 1001 West Virginia Avenue; Mrs. Carl (Florence) Munson, Sheridan Avenue; Mrs. Alonza (Bonnie) Miller, Route 4; Mrs. Ernest (Mary) Thompson, 319 Boyd Avenue; Mrs. Merle (Ann) Raney, Inwood, and a number of nieces and nephews.
A daughter, Ethel Virginia Lucas, died October 6, 1944, and a brother, Lester Lucas, died in 1960 and a sister, Mrs. Harry (Edith) Owens, died in 1970.
Services will be conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Tuscarora Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Vharles LeFew. Interment will be in the Tuscarora Cemetery.
The family will meet at the late home Thursday at 1:30 p.m. before going to the church.
The body ia at the family residence where friends may call at 7 p.m. today.
