Patty J. Kief

Martinsburg, W.Va. – Patty J. Kief, 69, of Martinsburg, died Wednesday, Feb. 17, 1999, at Washington County Hospital.

Born Nov. 17, 1929, in Morgan County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Rev. Benjamin and Emma Armentrout Spitzer.

She was preceded in Death by her husband, Eugene Richardson Kief Sr.

She was a 1948 graduate of Berkeley Springs High School.

She retired from the state of West Virginia as a cook for the Martinsburg Detention Center.

She was a member of Salem United Methodist Church.

She is survived by two daughter, Patsy Lea Kief and Karen J. Thompson, both of Martinsburg; a son, Eugene Richardson Kief Jr. of Reno, Nev.; a sister, Mary Cushwa of Martinsburg; five brothers, Bobby Spitzer and Bill Spitzer, both of Berkeley Springs, Danny Spitzer of Martinsburg, Sam Spitzer of Pennsville, N.J., and Max Spitzer of Mathias, W.Va.; four grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; eight stepgreat-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Dixie Warner and Leora Spitzer; and six brothers, Homer Spitzer, John Spitzer, Kingsley Spitzer, Roy Spitzer, Ben Spitzer and Marshall Spitzer.

Services will be Sunday at l p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St., Martinsburg. The Rev. John R. Yost will officiate. Burial will be in Tuscarora Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
