Jonathan Cushwa
Obituary – 8 August 1833 – Martinsburg Gazette
At the residence of Mr. Jacob A. Small, on Friday night last, Mr. Jonathan
Cushwa, an old and highly respectable inhabitant of this county. He received a
severe injury by being thrown from his horse about two weeks previous which
caused his death. The universal sympathy of his fellow citizens, evidenced the
esteem in which he was held. His remains were interred in the burying ground at
Tuscarora on Sunday last, accompanied by an unusually large number of friends
and relatives.
