Harold Lee Cushwa II

Harold Lee “Terry” Cushwa II, 59, of Martinsburg went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Dec. 23, 2006.

Born Dec. 2, 1947, in Berkeley County, he is the son of Harold Lee and Mary Spitzer Cushwa of Martinsburg.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in Vietnam. He was a member of the Martinsburg Moose and NRA.

He was a member of the Tuscarora Presbyterian Church, having served as an elder and trustee. He graduated from Martinsburg High School, class of 1965, and was formerly employed by Union Sales Dodge.

He is survived by his wife, Alisa Laing Cushwa; son Harold Lee “Trey” Cushwa III; three brothers, Robert Douglas Cushwa of Georgia, William Scott Cushwa of Martinsburg and Richard DeWayne Cushwa and wife Leslie of Summit Point, W.Va.; sister Judy Reynolds and husband Wally of Martinsburg.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2006, at 11 a.m. at the Tuscarora Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Clark DeSarro-Raynal and the Rev. John Cushwa officiating.

Interment will be in the Tuscarora Presbyterian Church cemetery.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a trust fund for his son, Trey at the Bank of Charles Town, 9738 Tuscarora Pike, Martinsburg, WV 25403.

Funeral services for Harold Lee “Terry” Cushwa II, 59, who went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Dec. 23, 2006, husband of Alisa Laing Cushwa, were held on Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2006, at 11 a.m. at Tuscarora Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Clark DeSarro-Raynal and the Rev. John Cushwa officiating. Military graveside honors were held at Tuscarora Presbyterian Cemetery.

Members of the Veterans Combined Honor Guard were Jim Grose, John Harmison, Kit Gardner and Mike Wiltshire.

Bearers were Jeff Boehm, David Cushwa, Mike Cushwa, Jim Smith, Kenny Hess and Danny Burkhart.

Honorary bearers were Jonathan Brown, Paul Sites and John Roush.

Congregation sang “Amazing Grace,” Jeanie Cushwa sang “How Great Thou Art,” and Abby Bender sang “I can Only Imagine.” Organist was Wendell Roberson.

Son, Trey, read a poem, and friends, family and clergy gave remembrances.
