Grant E. Canby
Grant E. Canby, 93, of Tuscarora Pike, died Wednesday, Feb 24, at City Hospital.
Born in Berkeley County, W.Va., he was the son of the late Samuel M. and Martha Jane Snyder Canby.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Beulah Armbrester Canby.
He was retired and formerly employed by the B&O Railroad.
He was a member of the Tuscarora Presbyterian Church.
He was a member of the Tuscarora Ruritan Club.
He is survived by his wife, Katie Armbrester Canby; one son, Herman G. Canby of Martinsburg; two grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Mazie Shirley and Marie Franks; and six brothers, Guy Canby, Dayton Canby, Elish Canby, Filmore Canby, Lee Canby, and Earl Canby.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Brown Funeral Home in Martinsburg with the Rev. Richard M. Forbes officiating. Burial will be private.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 6 to 8 p.m.
