Emma Elizabeth Barrett
Obituary – November 28, 1990
BARRETT, EMMA ELIZABETH, 88, of Route l, Martinsburg, died Tuesday in City
Hospital.
Born on January 16, 1902, in Berkeley County, she was the daughter of the late
John Williams and Mary E. Barrett Sencindiver.
She was a retired employee of Interwoven after 42 years of service and a member
of the Christ Reformed Church.
Surviving are one daughter, Mary Elizabeth Brooks of Falling Waters; six
grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; a number
of nieces and nephews, including two nieces with whom she resided, Dorothy Lucas
and Florence Hess; and a special friend, Darlene Shade.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wesley Emanual Barrett; a son, Richard
Barrett; six brothers, James, Hunter, Roy, Grover, Wade and Joseph Sencindiver;
and two sisters, Anna Lee Sencindiver and Virginia Grubbs.
Services will be conducted Friday at 2:30 p.m. from the Brown Funeral Home with
the Rev. Kenneth Sencindiver officiating with interment in Tuscarora Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 7 to 9
p.m.
