San Pablo Apostal

Since 2002, Tuscarora church has supported Christian churches in the Central American country of Nicaragua.  Specifically, we have given a yearly tithe to the Ecumenical Center for Theological and Social Studies, a Christian seminary located in the capital city of Managua.  With a student body of over 200, the seminary is truly ecumenical, serving as training ground for church leaders from 19 different Christian denominations.  In the past our gifts have gone to purchase new Bibles and study resources for over 200 graduating seminarians.

In 2006, the Outreach and Evangelism Committee did something different.  Our gift was directed to one particular church in the busy city of Managua--La Iglesia San Pablo Apostal, the Church of Saint Paul.  This church is a strong witness to the love of God in Jesus Christ.  Pastor Clark, while serving in Nicaragua as a missionary, attended this church frequently and lived with one of its families.  The church is active in worship, outreach and education.  Perhaps their biggest ministry is its day school.  Over 100 children from ages 5-10 are taught lessons in reading and writing, math, science and Bible.  The church is active in its communities.  In a land toiling from years of poverty and political corruption, San Pablo is a beacon of hope to many as they proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ in word and deed.
