One Great Hour of Sharing

One Great Hour of Sharing is a once a year offering where we take the time to lift up the needs of the hurting world and respond through giving as faithful Presbyterians.

The offering is divided into thirds and each program receives 32 percent.  The three programs are:  Presbyterian Disaster Assistance , Presbyterian Hunger Program and the Self-Development of People.  The other 4 percent goes to Presbyterian Hunger Program for its work on homelessness and affordable housing.

This program began over 55 years ago in response to the devastation of World War II.  In 1949 more then 75,000 churches responded and worked together to help people through love and caring.  Today we work through Church World Service in some areas, however each denomination decides how their gifts will be used.  This offering has received approximately 20 million dollars among the denominations. This offering is received usually at Easter.
